Berliner Weisse-style sour wheat ale. Notes of lemon and biscuit with a slight, earthy funk from mixed fermentation. Aged in stainless steel for one month. Named after one of Ottawa’s best people who helped us immensely throughout the last year. Thanks, Ian!

A hazy, hoppy American style Pale Ale featuring Mosaic, Amarillo and Cashmere hops. A beer that balances a floral and citrus hoppiness with a distinctive malt backbone.

Amiable

A classic old world saison. Pilsner and wheat malts make for a golden coloured, highly drinkable Belgian saison. Black pepper, banana and bubble gum dominate, but a slight herbal, fruity hop note from the Styrian Golding hops comes through on the finish.

Position type: Full Time

Salary: $18 - $22 per hour

 

Responsibilities:

  • Brew on our 7bbl brewhouse, cellar, and packaging equipment to provide consistency in beer production.
  • Help plan, direct, and coordinate all beer production activities in the brewery.
  • Work with the head brewer on recipe formulation, adjustments, and documentation; your input will matter!
  • Ensure all equipment is clean and sanitized after use and organized in its proper location.
  • Brewhouse, cellar, and bottling equipment maintenance and service scheduling.
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed and up to date.
  • Oversee quality control and yeast management.
  • Create, manage, and update brew schedule based on production and on-premise needs.
  • Document brewery operations, batch records, and inventory management.
  • Raw material selection, ordering, and inventory management.
  • Work with manager for on-site and off-site events (beer festivals, farmer’s markets, etc).
  • Lead brewery tours.
  • Educate and mentor taproom staff on beer styles, sensory training, and off flavours.
  • Help out in the front of house when needed.

 

Technical Qualifications:

Two years of professional brewing experience is ideal. Home brewing experience will be considered. Experience in producing sour beers is a plus.

Able to lift heavy weight (approx. 25kg) and work at heights.

Driver’s Licence for deliveries would be a plus.
